Hotspot Watcher

Your network, on your device

Privacy policy

Effective October 13, 2026

Hotspot Watcher is provided by Walzak Software & AI LLC. The app processes your local network information on your device. It has no accounts, advertising, analytics SDKs, or developer-operated data collection service.

Information the app uses

When you scan, the app sends discovery probes and Bonjour name queries on the local network you select. It reads local network interfaces and available neighbor-cache information to display IP addresses, MAC addresses, advertised hostnames, response status, and observation times.

The app does not upload this information to us. It does not inspect the contents of other devices' traffic. Manufacturer matching uses an IEEE registry bundled with the app; it does not send MAC addresses to an online lookup service.

What stays on your device

Scan observations are kept in memory for the current session. Names and icon choices you save are stored in the app's local preferences, associated with the selected network and device MAC address. Without a MAC address, those choices last only for the session.

To remove a saved name, clear its field and save. To remove a manual icon choice, select Automatic. Deleting the app removes its local app data. Device backups may preserve preferences according to your Apple backup settings; this app does not provide its own cloud sync or backup service.

Permissions and your choices

Local Network access enables discovery on your selected network. iOS controls which network information is available, including MAC address access. You can manage Local Network permission in iOS Settings. Scanning and automatic refresh operate while the app is active.

Copy and Share work only when you choose them. Shared details can include your saved device name, network addresses, observation status, and time. The clipboard, destination apps, and any services you choose have their own privacy practices. Opening Support or Privacy Policy opens this website and does not attach your scan results.

No tracking or sale of app data

We do not use the app to track you across apps or websites. We do not collect or sell your scan results, saved device names, or icon choices. There are no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the app.
